Queen of the wing

 K has not only won queen of the wing but she has won my heart.   K is the owner and she has some of the best food in town.    And I normally just come in for the Sushi but now that I have tasted her wings, I have another reason to visit the best sushi house in town.

Shingetsu Sushi Bar and Grill

This is an excellent place for sushi.  Food's always fresh, service is quick and  friendly.   Plus excellent interiors.

Great Tempura

The restaurant from the inside is very nice.  Everything is new and you can choose from booth, table, high table, or bar seating.  The food was tasty, moderately expensive.

I tried the California rolls, Spicy Tuna rolls, Spider rolls, Chicken Teriyaki, Fish Katsu, Shrimp Tempura, and of course the 2 sides their salad and mizo soup.  The food overall was good and the service was great too.  A sweet older woman who was the owner came to greet us and asked us how everything was.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Japanese food.

Shingetsu is the best sushi bar in Lakeland. I personally love the Torch Roll, the New Moon and Green Dragon. Make sure to get them Extra Spicy, it will make your taste buds sing.

Best Sushi in Lakeland.....

....and possibly Polk County.  There seem to be more Sushi restaurants opening recently, but Shingetsu came before most of them and still does it better.  This is by a wide margin one of my favorite restaurants!

Their fish is always fresh, and the decor is pretty trendy.  Overall, the atmosphere is great.  The serve liquor now too, though I haven't sampled that yet.

My 2 favorite rolls are the "Spicy Shiromi" roll, and the "Shrimp Abri" (Torch) roll.  Both nice and spicy!  And the torch roll is partically cooked by an actual blowtorch.  Where else could you get that?!?
